Users and Permissions

You can add multiple users to your farm, allowing farm owners, farm managers and anyone else to access your farm. When giving someone access to your farm, you can choose their permission level, which determines what they can do on your farm.

Adding Users

To add someone to your farm, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the farm settings
  2. Scroll down to the "Permissions / Users" section
  3. Enter the email address of the person you want to add where it says "New User's Email"
  4. Click the "Add" button

If the person you are adding already has an account, they will be added to your farm immediately. If they do not have an account, they will be sent an email inviting them to create an account.

Invitations

When you invite someone to your farm that doesn't have an account yet, they will be sent an email inviting them to create an account. Once they have created an account, they will be added to your farm. When they are automatically added to your farm, they will be removed from the "Pending Invitations" section and added to the "Permissions / Users" section.

People added by invitation are automatically given the "Viewer" permission level. You can change this by editing their permission level in the "Permissions / Users" section after they have created their account.

Collaboration

If someone else makes a change on a farm (like starting a new grazing), you may not need the change come through immediately. You can press the sync button at the top right of the page to get the latest changes.

Permissions

You can use permissions to govern what a user can do on your farm - these are the permissions you can configure per user:

Permission Viewer Editor Manager Owner Details
Start, end, edit and delete grazings ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Start and end a grazing, as well as editing and deleting old grazings. ⚠️ Note that if the user does not have the "Edit basic paddock data" permission, the paddock will not be able to be automatically moved when starting and ending a grazing.

Things like viewing paddocks, grazings, tasks, tags, map, history and generating reports are available to all users.

You can only modify permissions you have yourself - this means even if you have the "Add, configure and remove users", you need the "Deactivate the farm" permission yourself before you can give it or remove it from someone else. This allows you to give people access to add more people without them being able to hand out permissions they don't have themselves or give themselves more permissions.
